Description
We start the course with a general introduction to glass fusing with a bit of technical and safety information thrown in.
During the course of the workshop you’ll design and create a curve or wave decorative panel, a tea light holder or a flat piece of fused glass art. You’ll have access to a wide range of sheet glass, grits, frits and powders, stringers, ribbons, nuggets, confetti, micas and millefiori (all will become clear)! You’ll learn the basics of cutting, shaping and layering glass for 3D contour kiln work and we’ll discuss how the glass will behave in the kiln. Creativity and imagination is the key.
Your work will be fired overnight in my studio and posted out to you to display at home or give as gifts.
I always try to choose venues that are wheelchair friendly and benefit from accessible toilet facilities but this may not always be possible. Please feel free to get in touch to discuss your specific requirements.
These Fused Glass Workshops run from 10am until around 3pm.
Snacks and refreshments are provided on all courses, as are all materials and equipment. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements or allergies.
Please wear closed toe shoes for safety reasons.
Please note that this course will only run with a minimum of four participants. If the need arises I will contact you two weeks before the workshop to arrange a date change or a full refund.
